My Museum Piece: Peace Pipe Dream

museum art1

The angle and the camera quality of this piece is not that great at all, but I’m putting it up anyway just because it has been a VERY long time since I’ve posted anything and I felt like a slacker…

This was made with layered paper for the headdress, and strips of paper on the bead in the hair of this character. I sketched this with #2 pencil, and inked it with my go-to Sharpie pen. I didn’t to much shading because the time limit for this piece was 1 hour! So I kind of rushed. I used Blick colored pencils to color in this piece, and Blick charcoal to make the smoke. I actually don’t like Blick colored pencils, they are not nearly as pigmented as Prismacolor. I personally don’t recommend them. I signed up for a art program this summer, and I was able to have this piece put up in a museum. (the Milwaukee Jewish Museum) Mind you, this is in a small hallway and next to other amazing pieces of art. So, it’s legit, but not too legit if you know what I mean.

So, all in all this was a fun drawing to make and I apologize for the late update. Have a great time wherever you are πŸ™‚
